Clear braces

Smiling is the most recognised form of showing emotion. With clear braces, you will be able to radiate your smile with confidence. Popular with adults, clear braces are often ceramic in their make up and are affordable, modern and effective allowing your teeth to be straightened while you live life to its fullest.

Unlike metal braces, ceramic braces are clear or tooth coloured to appear less visible on your teeth.

Modern technology has created a material that is just as fast as standard metal braces and remains strong and durable throughout the course of the treatment.

The shape of each bracket is designed to help maintain proper hygiene routines and allow maximum comfort throughout treatment.

      CFast Braces

      What are CFast braces?

CFast treatment is an orthodontic or teeth-straightening treatment used to correct over crowded, crooked or gapped teeth.

Cfast is a simple, gentle, minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that corrects alignment issues with the top and bottom front six teeth, and can level and round out the arches, thus satisfying the needs of the vast majority of adult patients who seek orthodontic treatment.

Another important feature of CFast treatment are the tooth-coloured brackets and wires used. This makes CFast very discreet.

Most people won’t know you’re wearing braces unless you point it out.

How does it work? Using a combination of traditional orthodontic techniques, modern materials and tooth-coloured nickel titanium wires, CFast treatment gently moves your teeth quickly and safely. First, your Ilchester dentist will assess your suitability.

Once fitted you will regularly visit your dentist to have adjustments. This continues until your treatment ends, at which point you begin wearing a retainer.

Invisalign® is a discreet way to straighten your teeth, using a series of clear removable teeth aligners. It’s almost completely transparent and a discreet method of teeth straightening.

Why are my teeth not straight?

There are many causes of overcrowding, gaps and crooked teeth. For some people it can be inherited or possibly acquired, either due to a habit (sucking of the thumb, prolonged use of a dummy), or because of the premature loss of milk teeth or adult teeth.

Should teeth be straightened for health reasons?

The correction of poor dental positioning also improves oral hygiene, as crowded or crooked teeth are often hard to clean properly. With such an improvement, the risk of gum disease for example – which can result in loss of teeth in extreme cases – is prevented.

Who can benefit from orthodontic treatment?

At Portman, we have treated thousands of patients, aged from eight to 88 years old. There is never a point in life where we cannot move healthy crooked teeth into their ideal positions.
